Helps kids not to bend controllers while playing the handheld way. Rubber also helps protect switch from falls. Recommend!3 month update:- Drop test has been done by my toddler a few times, and it has come out without a scratch.- Taking it off is not a hassle if you follow the directions. Taking it off has not caused any kind of damage to my switch.- The plastic back is surprisingly very scratch resistant, and the rubber is still perfect. This console is used daily.- Very little dust and debris get through the case.- Very easy to clean if need be. Just rinse with some water and let it dry, or dry it off on your own.- My toddler can hold it just fine.- I have small/medium hands, and still no cramping.- A screen protector will work with this case on if it is applied properly. We have a gorilla glass type protector, and it doesn't rub against it.- It has fit in a regular size travel case. I still plan on getting the Mumba Travel Case.- I absolutely love this case, I recommend it to everyone if they are looking for great protection. I can't say enough good things about this case. It is absolutely the best purchase (accessory wise) that I've made for my switch. My first review:I watched many YouTube reviews about Nintendo Switch cases before I settled on this one. I am so glad I did. It is a very sturdy case, and the grip on the back is awesome. Unlike other people, I don't get hand cramps holding it in handheld mode. This case does add some extra comfort which is great. I was looking for something "toddler proof" and this is perfect. The cut outs are great, one of them is a tab bit off center, but it's hardly noticeable. There is no cutout for the kickstand, so if that is a must on your list, this isn't the case for you. I for one, hardly use the kickstand so it being covered is fine with me. I have yet to take it off. I know people are having problems with taking it off, but I followed the directions putting it on. I'm sure if I follow the directions taking it off, I'll have no problems. The case does add some weight, but it is a very protective case. Most good, protective cases will add a bit of weight. I figured it would add some when I bought it, and honestly, it hasn't bothered me a bit. It has yet to be drop tested, but I'm sure it will prove that it is protective once the inevitable happens. As of right now, I have nothing but good things to say about this case. I can't wait to purchase the Mumba Hardshell Carrying Case for the Switch.So... some of you gifted your children a pretty nifty piece of tech as a gift. That's cool. Now think of your kid with that 300 dollar device in their hands playing games on the road, in a resturant or taking it to a friends house. Yeah, you can just imagine that switch taking a nasty spill and after a slow mo " Nooooo!" *poof* so long Mario. Luckily there are affordable hard case shells on the market. And this one fits the bill. It appears to be pretty durable and well made. Now, I haven't had any drop tests to prove how effective it can be but it passes the eye test and looks like a tank.It does have drawbacks. A wee bit snug to put on. So initially I was worried it wouldn't fit but after applying a little extra pressure it did. We also need to take the case off when arriving home as the joycons are permanently connected with the case on, and it definitely isn't dockable. There's no kickstand, so forget using any other controllers for multiplayer on the road unless you inconveniently prop it up against something. But alas, what you do recieve is piece of mind. And thus far that's enough. The case fits very well on the switch and in especially larger hands. Very durable and good quality. So I love this case but I want whoever is planning to buy this to have the proper idea when purchasing this because the reviews are pretty mixed. So, I noticed the bad reviews are mostly from last year and the good ones are this year, don’t know if they updated it since last year but I have whatever they sold me on 11/25/2019. I think it was though because my personal experience and most of the newer ones say it’s NOT difficult to remove. There’s a top lip that sort of locks the console in and if you simply push that off you can easily get your switch back out. It’s not a quick removal though so I’d suggest that if you want this case you might want to be ok with leaving it on permanently because I think I’d rather buy a hub dock for my Switch than constantly take off the case to dock it.(you might wanna do the same cause if you’re buying this, you probably hate using the OEM dock as much as I do) Now, I bought this knowing that it won’t dock nicely but I chose it over others because the shape allows it to fit in most commonly used/ owned carry cases. I didn’t have to buy a new travel case to use this. It adds a decent amount of weight to the console but for me it makes it feel stronger/sturdier.I recently purchased a Nintendo Switch and I wanted a case that would protect my Switch in case I accidentally dropped it. Not only that, I was scared of my Switch getting scuff marks and scratches. I found this case to quite suit my needs. I purchased a screen protector seperateley and the case does not interfere with the edges of the screen protector at all. The case fits very snug and it is made out of quality material. This case will not fit while docked, but it’s very simple to put on and take off. The charging port and the game slot are easily accessible, but the kickstand in the back will be covered and you will not have access to it while the case is on, but that doesn’t bother me at all. I feel very safe when I take my Switch out of the house with this case on.I only have one game at the moment but I think further down the line I may purchase a slimmer case that can be used while docked, just to make it faster for me to switch from docked to portable mode, but that’s only my personal preference. I know there are hardcore enthusiasts who only use their Switch in portable mode and then others who only have their Switch in docked mode. Of course this case is for those who mainly use it in portable mode, which I find myself playing 50% of the time. So I recommend this case for anyone who constantly plays in portable mode and uses their Switch out of the house.OK so this makes your Nintendo Switch comfortable and makes it feel solid in handheld mode (Pretty much only use it in this mode). I've owned my Switch for less than a month and this case has scratched the back up of the switch horizontal and vertical (I believe this is where the frosted part meets the rubber) and its left slight diagonal marks on both joy cons from the rubber grips. Just odd amounts of wear whilst having the case installed to be honest. Ultimately it appears as though the finish on the Switch in general can wear quickly but I purchased this to prevent damage etc not cause it... So use it with caution - its really comfortable though. It would be nice if they made it easier to slide out the controllers without having to take off the whole cover. I got this one because it was one of the only ones that fits into the Mumba hard case unlike the Mumbe battle series and blade series. Overall this a good protective cover paired with the hard case for travel.
